Lightning claims one, leaves five injured

A woman was killed when lightning struck her in Taplejung district on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Durga Bhattarai of Fungling municipality-10, Furambu. Critically injured Bhattarai died on the way to the district hospital.

Fakeer at a Muslim shrine arrested on rape charge

A fakeer at the Hazarat Kammar Shah Baba Dargah Sarif Mazar has been arrested on the charge of raping a woman. The priest at the Muslim shrine at Kamdi of Duduwa rural municipality-5 in the district allegedly raped the woman in the name of faith healing. The fakeer, Najeer Mohammad Sai, reportedly committed the heinous crime on the night of August 26.

Ex-ambassador Richard’s dead body found four months after his disappearance
