Siraha, Sept. 1: A man from Mirchaiya Municipality-6 in Siraha district died of coronavirus infection at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan while receiving treatment this morning.
Chief of Siraha District Health Office Krishna Dev Yadav said that the man who tested positive for the virus on August 26 died during his treatment in ICU.
He was also a patient of high blood-pressure and diabetes.
With this, the total number fatalities caused due to the coronavirus pandemic reached seven in Siraha district.
Similarly, in bid to rein in the spread of the virus, the Siraha District Administration Office imposed a prohibitory order for 12 days more.
In a notice issued by the administration, the prohibitory order is clamped till September 12.
A meeting held under the chair of District COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre Coordinator and Chief District Officer Pradip Raj Kandel decided to extend the prohibitory order till September 12 and strictly impose the decision.
With the restriction order in place, public gatherings, fairs, receptions and meetings are completely restricted while the religious functions should be limited to indoor performance.
