Feast host tests positive: 70 samples collected 

The head of a family that hosted a feast to celebrate the naming of a new born member has tested positive to Corona Virus, leading to fear of massive community spread from those who attended the occasion.  

CCMC office-bearers test negative  

Office-bearers of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee (CCMC) have tested negative to Corona Virus. This includes Deputy Prime Minister Iswar Pokharel, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Health Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal and Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa, among others.  

Team mobilized to examine cases of high fever   

The team was mobilized from the Sudur Paschim Provincial Heath Directorate. The team that reached Mahakali on Saturday has collected blood samples from the sick and their family members.

COVID-19: 102 infected, two dead in a day   

A total of 102 new cases of Corona Virus was confirmed in the district on Saturday, with two deaths. The two people who died were however from outside Chitwan.  

TU’s annual exams only after Dashain festival  

The Tribhuvan University (TU) is preparing to conduct its postponed exams only after Dashain festival.     According to Controller of Examinations, Pushparaj Joshi, preparations were made to conduct semester and annual examinations after Dashain.  

One more COVID-19 patient dies in Chitwan today  

One more patient of COVID-19 has died at Chitwan Medical College here today. The dead one was 47-year-old woman from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-5.    

  Farmers on sleepless night after warthogs damage crops   

Farmers in various local levels of Dailekh district have been worried over the menace of warthog of late. As the herd of warthogs has been damaging crops, the farmers here are on sleepless night for quite a while.    

     COVID-19: cases rise to 6,000 in province no. 5   

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Province no. 5 has reached 6,101. Of them, 1,297 are active cases, according to the Ministry of Social Development.    

Parliamentary hearing begins   

The process of parliamentary hearing of the Nepali ambassadors proposed to be appointed for Germany, Belgium and Pakistan has begun. The Federal Parliamentary Hearing Committee has initiated the process along with a notice inviting complaints, if any, against the proposed candidates.    

Infected woman gives birth to twins 

A woman, who had tested positive to Corona Virus, gave birth to twins at the Bharatpur hospital on Friday. A resident of Gorkha, she was admitted to the hospital on August 24. The 37-year-old was confirmed positive to Corona Virus two days later.
