By Mahima Devkota, Kathmandu, July 3: After 62 days the number of deaths from COVID-19 in Nepal has been recorded below 20 on Saturday.
Saturday, the country witnessed 19 fatalities from the COVID-19.
According to Dr. Krishna Prasad Poudel, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), with 19 death cases, Saturday has become the lowest COVID death day after almost two months.
“This has been observed after almost two months, last cases of COVID-19 below 20 were recorded on May 2, with 14 dearth cases,” said Dr. Poudel.
Similarly, Dr. Sher Bahadur Pun, Chief of the Clinical Research Unit at Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Teku said that COVID-19 cases seem to decrease with the decrease in the number of people tested positive for the virus.
As many as 246 death cases, the highest number of death cases in 24 hours during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, were recorded on May 19.
