A landslide has disrupted the Narayangarh-Muglin road section. The two-way road traffic has come to a halt after the landslide occurred at Ichhakamana-6, Charkilo Danda of Chitwan at 8.10 am this morning.

Madhyapurthimi municipality is to mobilize nursing robots in treatment of coronavirus infected patients in its hospital.     Mayor Madan Sundar Shrestha shared that three nursing robots would be mobilized for this purpose at the Nepal-Korea Friendship Hospital run by the municipality.    

Rhino poaching a challenge for CNP  

This was, however, interrupted on September 6 after a rhino was found dead at an island near Laukhani in Nawalparasi in the area of the Chitwan National Park. The rhino sustained head injuries and wounds made by sharp weapons. 

  One arrested on rape charge 

A person has been arrested on the charge of rape in Doti district. Chief at the Area Police Office, Jorayel, Police Inspector Mahendra Thapa, said that Tek Bahadur Oli, 31, of Jorayel rural municipality has been arrested on the charge of raping a woman.  

  Schools at Humla village closed over infection risk   

All schools at Uttari Namkha rural municipality in Humla district have been closed following the risk of COVID-19.     A rural municipality education committee meeting on Wednesday decided to close all educational institutions at the rural municipality citing increasing risk of pandemic.   

     Five houses in landslide risk in Dumre 

Five houses are in high risk of landslide in Bohora Besigaun of Beshisahar Municipality in Tanahun district.     According to ward chair Ganesh Kandel, the houses are in high risk of landslide as the landslide is occurring near by the settlement since Wednesday morning caused by continuous rainfall.

Three arrested with 11,800 ampules of illegal pharmaceutical drugs

Police have arrested three individuals with 11,800 ampules of several pharmaceutical drugs from Bhaktapur on Tuesday. Acting upon a special tipoff, a team from the Metropolitan Crime Division and Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur was in search of a container, which they found along the Araniko Highway. According to the division, the container (Naa 3 Kha 989) was parked on the side of the highway in Sallahghari.

Nepal has prioritized public health programmes and prevention of COVID-19: Minister Dhakal

Addressing the WHO’s Regional Office for South-East Asia’s 73rd assembly virtually from Nepal today, Minister Dhakal shared that the capacity for conducting PCR tests, building isolation facilities, carrying out contact tracing and import capacity were fully strengthened in the places with higher population density and higher occurrence of COVID-19 cases in Nepal.

Prohibitory order in Kathmandu Valley eased: shops to open on alternate days, vehicles to ply

As per the new eased form of the order, odd and even number rule as per the date will be applied for both the private and public vehicles (more than 16 seaters) while fancy stores will be allowed to remain opened on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and groceries as well as utensils shops will be open on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday, according to Janak Raj Dahal, chief district officer (CDO) of Kathmandu.

COVID-19 recovery rate on the rise, over 9,000 recoveries in last five days

According to the MoHP, some 9,675 novel coronavirus infected patients were discharged after recovering from the virus from Friday, September 4 to Wednesday, September 9.

Kathmandu Valley records 464 new cases of COVID-19

The Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday confirmed 464 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley. In 11,167 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 464 persons, 145 females and 319 males, were found with the novel coronavirus infection, read the COVID-19 national update released by the ministry on Wednesday.
