Kathmandu Valley records 431 new cases of COVID-19

"In 10,176 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 431 persons, 171 females and 260 males, were found with the novel coronavirus infection in the Valley itself," revealed the daily report released by the MoHP today.

     Gurjo plantation campaign gains ground on Bagmati corridor 

The plantation of Ayurvedic medicinal herb, gurjo, is gaining ground with a belief that the plant is invariably useful for strengthening immune system of the human to fight against the coronavirus infection.    

     146 Nepali migrant workers repatriated via charter flights   

A total of 146 Nepali migrant workers were repatriated via charter flights from Bahrain today. These people were stranded in various places of Bahrain due to COVID-19 outbreak and its effect in their job settlement.    

  26 police persons infected in a ward office 

Twenty-six police persons at Ward Police Office, Narayangadh, have contracted coronavirus. The result of the samples tested at COVID-19 laboratory of Bharatpur Hospital came on Friday and this morning.    

     One dies of COVID-19 in Rupandehi 

A person has died of COVID-19 in Rupandehi. A 40-year-old man of Somsatiya rural municipality-4 died at the Corona Special Hospital in Butwal.    

Koshi hospital receives RNA extraction equipment 

The Biratnagar metropolis has handed over a RNA extraction machine for Corona Virus testing to the Koshi hospital. Mayor of the metropolis Bhim Parajuli handed over the machine to chair of the hospital management committee Mahesh Bhattarai at a function held here on Friday.    

     Call to open cultural sites   

The World Hindu Federation has expressed concern over the closure of the temple, shrines and other religious sites for the past six months. It has demanded that the sites be opened by maintaining social distancing.    

‘Visit docs to avoid confusion between COVID-19 and flu’

Five more succumb to COVID-19, death toll reaches 322

Kathmandu Valley records whopping 696 cases of COVID-19, highest in a single day

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Friday confirmed 696 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley. This is the highest single-day spike in COVID-19 tally recorded by the Valley in a single day.  In 10,701 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 696 persons, 228 females and 468 males, were found with the virus infection in the Kathmandu Valley, read the daily update revealed by the ministry on Friday.

According to prison head, Babita Mahato, the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test of the swabs of 100 inmates was conducted after some inmates showed symptoms of mild cough and cold. Of the 100 swab samples, 59 reported COVID-19 positive, she said.

34 new cases of COVID-19 detected in Chitwan

Chitwan on Friday recorded 34 new cases of COVID-19. According to the report made public by the COVID-19 laboratory of Bharatpur Hospital, of the 156 swab samples put to the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test, as many as 34 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection.

One-way traffic resumes on Narayangadh - Muglin road  

The Narayangadh-Muglin road that was blocked at Charkilo due to a landslide has been opened for one-way traffic. The road was opened single lane at 10.30 this morning after removing a portion of the landslide debris that had deposited on the road, the District Police Office Chitwan said.    

Plasma bank set up for treatment of critical COVID-19 patients   

The Regional Blood Transmission Centre Bharatpur has started setting up a plasma bank for coronavirus infected people. Centre’s Chief Ramesh Kanta Poudel shared the Centre has collected fresh blood of four coronavirus-recovered patients for depositing plasma.
