Prohibitory order extended in Jhapa second time  

Prohibitory order has been extended in Jhapa for an additional week. A meeting of the District-level COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (DCCMC) held at the District Administration Office Jhapa decided to extend the restriction up to coming May 20 midnight.

Idol of Rato Machhindranath placed on chariot, Jatra to begin on Saturday

The idol was ceremonially removed from its temple in Machhindra Bahal, Lalitpur on the auspicious time of 4 pm, taken to the Jogambar Pith at Pulchowk, and placed on the 32-feet-tall chariot which is under construction there at 5 pm, informed Mohan Byanjankar, second vice president of Jyapu Samaj.

Elephant tramples man to death in morning walk  

Jit Bahadur Khoyang Limbu, 44, of Kamal Rural Municipality-3 died on the spot in the attack of wild elephant at 5:00 in the morning inside a forest of Ratuwamai Tree Plantation Project, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of District Police Office Jhapa Rakesh Thapa confirmed. 

Quarantine, isolation not constructed yet in Doti   

 Local levels of Doti district have not been able to construct isolation and quarantine facilities to keep the people returned to their hometown from India.   

FNCMEA provides filled oxygen cylinders to Dhading hospital   

The Federation of Nepalese Crusher and Mines Entrepreneurs’ Association (FNCMEA) have jointly provided 47 filled oxygen cylindered to be returned later to the temporary Covid-19 hospital set up by Dhading Hospital.   

Two killed in road accident  

Two persons were killed and one other was injured when a Dhorpatan-bound taxi (Dha 1 Ja 528) met with an accident at Pyangkhola in Dhorpatan Municipality-5 in Baglung district on Tuesday evening.    

Covid-19 death toll in Baglung hits 17  

Two more Covid-19 deaths have been reported in Baglung district taking the death toll from the infection to 17.

Prohibitory order imposed in Rasuwa for a week  

Issuing a notice, the District Administration Office imposed the prohibitory order for a week beginning Monday midnight after corona virus cases surged in the district day by day.   

Couple dies in road mishap 

The deceased have been identified as Satya Narayan Mandal, 45, of Hanumannagar Kankalini municipality-3 in Saptari district and his wife Sunita Devi Mandal, 40, according to Saptari Police.

Sudurpaschim Government releases budget for oxygen plant   

The Hospital Management Committee said the hospital has received Rs eight million from the Province's social development ministry to undertake the project when it is facing challenges to treat Covid-19 cases in lack of oxygen. This life-saving gas is crucial for the treatment of Covid-19 serious cases.

Murder accused arrested from Nepal-India border   

Shivaji Shah of around 35 years of age who is alleged of burning his neigbhour to death after sprinkling petrol on the victim was apprehended from Bhadsar of Malangawa municipality-5 along the Nepal-India border in the district, the District Police Office, Sarlahi confirmed. 

Oxygen bank established in Pokhara   

As said by campaign coordinator Minu Kunwar, Gandaki workshops have around 2,000 oxygen cylinders and they will be sent to oxygen gas industries to refill before supplying to hospitals.  

Body of missing youth found in cave   

A youth who had gone missing since April 27 from Devisthan of Malika rural municipality-5 in Myagdi was found dead in a cave near the Marchula Community Forest. 

Kavre DAO extends prohibitory order by week   

The District Administration Office (DAO), Kavrepalanchowk has decided to extend the duration of a prohibitory order by a week in view of the increasing cases of Covid-19. 

B&C Hospital adds 200 more beds for Covid-19 patients  

B&C Hospital in Birtamod in Jhapa district has added 200 beds for Covid-19 patients that come into operation. Covid-19 patients from Province-1 and 2 and various parts of the country have been taken to the hospital.
