Sarlahi, May 10 : An accused in the murder took place at Gharibathan of Ishworpur municipality-12 in Sarlahi a week ago has been arrested.
Shivaji Shah of around 35 years of age who is alleged of burning his neigbhour to death after sprinkling petrol on the victim was apprehended from Bhadsar of Malangawa municipality-5 along the Nepal-India border in the district, the District Police Office, Sarlahi confirmed.
Shiya Sharan Raya, 58, was set on fire on May 3 as he was staying at his home (mango garden). Most of his body parts were burnt and he was rushed to the Dhanusha-based Lalgadh Model Hospital from where he was referred to the capital.
Though, he was taken to the Kathmandu-based Kirtipur Hospital on a helicopter, he breathed his last the following day amidst the treatment.
Further investigation into the case is underway, police said. Shah has just returned from foreign employment and the incident happened in less than 24 hours of his arrival, locals said.
