Myagdi district headquarters, Beni Bazaar, has been at high risk of erosion with the flood-fed Kaligandaki washing away the embankment. 

Heavy rain forecast for three more days  

Heavy rainfall is predicted in most parts of the country for three days more, the Hydrology and Meteorological Forecasting Division said. It has indicated to the risk of flood and landslide at some places due to the much rainfall.     

Woman dies when a rivulet sweeps her 

A woman of Machhapuchhre rural municipality-1 in Kaski died when a flood-fed rivulet swept her away. Ward Chairperson Birendra Gurung informed that the Khahare rivulet took away 40-year-old Leeladevi Pariyar of Tuse at around 8.30 pm last night.

River management project announces inability to control floods as monsoon arrives   

The Khando River Management Project in Rajbiraj has announced that it would not be able to control the river floods and inundation in the wake of monsoon. The project informed it citing the reason that no budget was allocated this year for the emergency control of the river.

NC leader Adhikari passes away at 76

Adhikari had been suffering from diabetes and blood pressure. He was admitted to Manamohan Memorial Hospital in Swayambhu on June 11 after his health worsened, said the family of the deceased. He died at 11 pm, said Pradip Raj Adhikari, president of the Nepali Congress Lamjung-Kathmandu liaison committee.

Prohibitory order in Baitadi extended by 15 days

The prohibitory order to prevent spread of COVID-19 in Baitadi district sharing its border with neighbouring India has been extended by 15 days (until June 29). A meeting of the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee (CCMC) held on Sunday decided to extend the prohibitory order beginning today midnight (at 12 am).

The Siddhartha highway has been obstructed due to landslides triggered by heaving rainfall since yesterday. Landslide that took place at Bhalu pahad in Fedikhola rural municipality-2 of Syangja this morning has obstructed the highway, according to the District Police Office, Syangja.
