Siraha’s Dhangadhimai municipality goes into lockdown for a week  

The Dhangadhi municipality in Siraha has gone into a week-long lockdown citing the growing risk of coronavirus. The death of a woman from the virus in neighbouring Golbazaar municipality and the rising COVID-19 cases in Lahan municipality has prompted the Dhangadhi municipality to come up with the lockdown order till August 16 beginning from today.    

NC central departments get full shape

Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has given full shape to the central departments of the party on Sunday.     In line with the party statute, President Deuba nominated deputy chiefs, secretaries and members to give full shape to the departments.

  Registration for national ID distribution begins   

The District Administration Office Bhaktapur has started a process for the distribution of national ID cards.     Chief District Officer Humkala Pandey shared the registration of details began amidst a programme on Sunday.    

Pasang Lhyamu highway resumes operation   

The Pasang Lhyamu highway which has been obstructed due to landslide since 3 August has come into re-operation.     Road traffic had come to a grinding halt at Dhunche Syafrubich Thulobharkhu ridge with the highway getting crumbled.    

PCR testing at community level  

PCR testing has been undertaken in different areas of Tanahun district to identify the status of corona infection at community level.     According to the District Health Office, the testing was carried out in the offices marked with frequent flow of service recipients, garage workshop, banks and financial institutions, office of the security personnel and salons, among others.

Ten ICU ventilators gifted to Nepali Army  

Indian Army has gifted ten ICU ventilators to Nepali Army in order to support its efforts to fight against the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic. Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Ambassador of India to Nepal, presented the ventilators to Chief of Army Staff Purna Chnadra Thapa in a ceremony held at Nepali Army Headquarters today.    

Bank sealed off after employees test positive for coronavirus 

     The bank employee of 34-year-old from Mahottari district was found positive for the COVID-19. Lahan Municipality's health section chief Ram Sundar Yadav informed that the bank employees were kept in a quarantine facility set up at a local hotel.    

Motorcyclist dies in accident 

A motorcycle rider has died in a road accident that took place last night. Suman Katwal Shrestha,29, of Kamal Binayak died after the motorcycle (Ba. 66 Pa. 2810) was hit by a jeep (Ba. 19 Cha. 3384) heading towards Jagati from Chayamasingh of Bhaktapur municipality.    

One dies of Corona Virus in Pokhara   

A man has died in Pokhara due to Corona Virus, the first death to the virus in Kaski district. The 62-year-old of Pokhara metropolis-19 died in course of treatment last night.     The man was undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of the 'COVID treatment centre' of Western regional hospital since August 1.
