Ratamate-Batase-Kavre road obstructed since past two weeks  

The Ratamate-Batase-Kavre road section in western part of the district is still obstructed due to landslides. The road section at Mahankal Rural Municipality is obstructed due to landslides triggered by incessant rainfall occurred on July 20 and 21.    

  Devghat rural municipality sealed off for a week after corona transmission at community level

Tanahun’s Devghat rural municipality has been sealed off for a week after a coronavirus was found to have transmitted to two people of the community. In order to check the coronavirus outbreak risk, the rural municipality took the decision to seal off its boundary from today onward.    

Press Union demands thorough investigation into journalist Baniya demise   

Nepal Press Union(NPU) has demanded thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of Assistant Editor of the Kantipur daily, Balaram Baniya. Issuing a condolence message on Wednesday, General-secretary Ajaya Babu Shiwakoti has called for carrying out in-depth investigation into all aspects associated with the demise of Baniya and revealing the truth to the public.

13 Biplav cadres arrested

Nepal Police has ramped up crackdown against the leaders and cadres of the banned Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav) Group. As many as 13 cadres of the Biplav group including four from Rukum-West, three from Jumla, two each from Salyan and Surkhet and one each from Dailekh and Dolpa were recently arrested according to the State Police Office.

Adolescent girl dies of scrub typhus

An adolescent girl died of scrub typhus infection in Baitadi district. The deceased has been identified as Puja Joshi, 14, of Dogadakedar rural municipality-3, Shreekot.     Puja breathed her last on the way to the Kohalpur Medical College for treatment.

Journalist Baniya found dead

The body was found stuck in the wire mesh of the filter of the Mandu hydroelectricity project at Sisneri, Bhimphedi rural municipality in Makawanpur district, the Metropolitan Crime Control Division said.

Woman rescued from forced sex trade   

A Nepali woman who was allegedly subjected to flesh trade after being trafficked to India from Kathmandu a year ago has been rescued and send back to home. The rescue was possible with the help of Rescue Foundation run by Afanta Nepal.    

Nyalam County in China provides biggest support to Sindhupalchowk  

The Nyalam County in Tibet Autonomous Region of China has provided the biggest support to Sindhupalchowk district so far.     The support in the form of medical appliances is provided to step up the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the district, said CDO of Sindhupalchowk, Umesh Kumar Dhakal.    

Two die at corona hospital in Butwal, one was COVID-19 infected   

Two men died at a corona special hospital in Butwal on Tuesday night. One of them was tested positive for coronavirus and another showed only symptoms, said Dr Rajendra Khanal, medical superintendent of Lumbini Provincial Hospital.    

Sharp drop in bullion price   

The price of gold dropped significantly in the domestic market today. According to Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, today the price of yellow metal fell Rs 6,200 per tola ( 11.66 grams) in compared to the previous day.
