Seven persons held with leopard hide  

A joint investigation team of the Metropolitan Police Sector Bhaktapur and the Metropolitan Police Crime Division has arrested seven people from Bhaktapur for possessing leopard hide.     Police on Tuesday evening arrested four persons from Sudal of Changunarayan municipality and three persons from Darjaling Height of Suryabinayak with the banned wildlife part, Deputy Superintendent Deepak Giri of the Metropolitan Police Sector Bhaktapur said.    

Village loses physical connectivity after river sweeps suspension bridge  

Physical connectivity has snapped at Gaumul rural municipality-2, Ajayatodki village after the flood-fed Budhiganga River swept away a suspension bridge. A team of police personnel and rescuers from the rural municipality has returned empty handed.    

  Six police personnel suspended for taking bribe from service recipients 

Five police personnel working at the office of district police Sindhuli were suspended for their alleged involvement in taking bribe from service recipients.     A special police team deputed from the Bagmati State Police Office took the cops under control on 5 August while the later were receiving bribe from service recipients.    

Road mishap in Doti: three dead, 32 injured   

At least three persons died and other 32 sustained injuries in a bus accident at Purbichauki rural municipality-1, Fulaut in Doti district.     According to Police Inspector of the District Police Office Doti Karna Bahadur Bohora, the Achham bound bus (Na 6 Kha 2529) from Kailali met with the accident.

   Karate’s Olympic preparation put off   

The ongoing training of Karate players as part of preparation for Olympic to be organized in Japan’s capital, Tokyo, has been put off.     Owing to unchecked outbreak of coronavirus infection, the training of the Karate players was put on hold since Tuesday.    

State Assembly committee inspects damaged Besisahar-Chame road

The Finance and Development Committee under the Gandaki State Assembly has inspected the Besisahar-Chame road section damaged by the incessant rains. The Committee also comprising its chair Deepak Koirala highlighted the need of working through a fast track to restore the route, promising to suggest the government same.    

PM's press advisor slams Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal   

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's press advisor, Surya Thapa, has said the language used by the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSPN) against the Prime Minister is condemnable.    

Galyang hospital resumes services after two months   

Two months after its closure, the Galyang Municipal Hospital in Syangja's Galyang Municipality was brought into operation from Monday, Hospital's Chief Thanapati Neupane said.     The hospital's services were halted for fear of community transfer of coronavirus after a doctor there tested positive for the virus.    

COVID-19: KU closed for 15 days   

The Dhulikhel-based Kathmandu University (KU) in Kavrepalanchowk district has been closed for next 15 days beginning from today, owing to the growing risk of coronavirus infection.
