Icefall doctors' team at Everest Base Camp   

A team of eight icefall doctors has reached the base camp to pave the route for mountaineers to the summit of Sagarmatha or Everest. A team led by Angsarki Sherpa, an icefall doctor who has been active in route construction for a long time, has reached the base camp.  

Four arrested with red panda skin   

Police have arrested four people in possession of the skin of a rare red panda. They were arrested on Sunday from Anjana Hotel in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolis-12, Banke.     The arrested are Harka Bahadur BK of Tripura Sundari Municipality-3, Bivek Bohara and Ram Krishna Shahi of Ward No. 11 and Sukram BK of Thulobheri Municipality-1, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhusudan Neupane. Police recovered two red panda skins hidden in a plastic bag at the hotel.

Elderly woman drowns

An elderly woman drowned in a well at Madi Municipality-7 in the district. The deceased, Sukamaya Ranabhat, 74, from the locality, who had stepped out of her house today morning, failed to return home, prompting a police search for her, which resulted in the finding of her body afloat in the well near her house.

Nepal-India Energy Exchange: Construction of Mainahiya-Sampatiya transmission line at high-speed

The double circuit transmission line linking Mainahiya in Rupandehi district of Nepal with Sampatiya (New Nautanahawa) in Uttar Pradesh (UP) State of India has achieved 60 per cent progress in construction, according to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

Committee formed to monitor, take action against publishing calendars without approval 

The Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti (Calendar Determination Committee) has formed a committee to monitor and take action against those publishing calendars without permission from the Committee. Members of the committee is led by the Samiti member Basudev Krishna Shastri are Murari Raj Pandey and Khilhari Ghimire, both of the Samiti.
