Implement common minimum programmes: Chair Yadav 

Chairperson of the Janata Samajbadi Party, Upendra Yadav, has urged the government to implement the common minimum programmes and policy the ruling alliance had introduced. He accused the government of delaying the implementation of the common programmes.   

School teacher arrested for sexual harassment charge

The Chitwan police have arrested a school teacher on a charge of sexually harassing a girl. Suraj Lamichhane of Madi Municipality-5 in Chitwan district, who teaches at Someshwor Secondary School in Madi, has been accused of sexually abusing a ninth-grader at the same school.

Government responsible for ensuring people’s right to drinking water: PM Deuba

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today inaugurated the ‘Angna Mauwa Greater Pumping Drinking Water Project’ based in Mauwa of Tumbewa rural municipality-3 in Panchthar district. The Prime Minister inaugurated the project by releasing water from a tap at the local Indrani Secondary School. The project is expected to benefit 1,600 households at Tumbewa-1, 2 and 3.  

Hospital for infectious diseases comes into operation in Kalikot 

The Infectious Diseases Hospital would render treatment for malaria, HIV/AIDS, visceral leishmaniasis (commonly known as kalazar), tuberculosis, COVID-19 and respiratory related communicable diseases, shared Health Service Office chief Dr Ratnabir Sunar.

National Women's Beach Volleyball in Rani Mahal, Palpa

A national women's beach volleyball tournament is being organized in the Rani Mahal premises in Palpa from April 7 to 9 this year.     Organized by Sanjay Smriti Memorial Foundation with support from Palpa residents, the competition will feature one team each from seven provinces, three departmental teams and two invited teams.
