Home Minister lauds APF role for country’s security

Inaugurating the APF No 5 Bindhyabasini Brigade headquarters at Chandrauta of Shivaraj municipality-5, in Kapilvastu today, the Home Minister said the government was preparing to proceed with the promotion in the APF that had been suspended for long as it was committed to the career development of APF personnel. More, the government plans to come up with a scheme to promote self-sufficiency among APF retirees, according to him.

Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Devendra Paudel inaugurated the event amidst a programme. The general convention will elect a 66-member new leadership (27 office-bearers and 39 central members) for the organisation for a three-year term. DK Dhungana, the incumbent co-president, has been already elected unanimously as its new president while the nominations for some other posts are also unopposed.

Nepal today facing Bangladesh for last match under SAFF U-18 Championship   

Nepal is today taking on Bangladesh for its last match under the SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship underway in India.     The match will kick off at the Jamshedpur-based JRD Tata Sports Complex a 7:15 pm as per the Nepali time. Bangladesh is taken as a strong competitor for Nepal that lost its opening match to Bangladesh.    

PM Deuba inaugurates International Conference on Sustainable Mountain Development

PM Deuba inaugurated the two-day event organized by the Ministry of Forests and Environment at Chandragiri in Kathmandu. A total of 200 representatives from 13 countries have participated in the conference. Among them, 100 are participating physically while remaining others partake the event virtually, the organizers said.
