The committee has been tasked with monitoring and recommending the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Home Ministry to take action against those publishing calendars without permission from the Samiti.
The Samiti has provided approval to publish more than 100 wall calendars and 14 paatro ( calendar) for 2079 BS, said Samiti's executive director Surya Prasad Dhungel.
The wall calendars and paatro have to mention their approval from the Samiti.
This provision followed complaints that wall calendars and paatro created confusion and problems about festivals and holidays.
In response to this, a Cabinet meeting on 4 January 2021 provisioned that it needs to take approval from the Samiti to publish wall calendars and paatro.
