The official logo of the Federal Parliament has been modified in accordance with the updated political and administrate map of Nepal. The new map which incorporates India-encroached Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani in the far-western as its territories has been adjusted in the logo.    

Woman dies in quarantine in Pyuthan

The woman who died had arrived in the district six days ago along with her family. The deceased had undergone brain tumor surgery twice, one three years ago and the other just two and a half months ago, said ward chair Rana referring to the deceased family.

NA endorses Policy Research Academy Bill  

The National Assembly has endorsed the 'Policy Research Bill-2076 BS'. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Shivamaya Tumbahangphe had presented the bill in the upper house meeting on behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli seeking endorsement of the proposed bill.    

Surkhet reports 12 more COVID cases  

Surkhet, the capital of Karnali State, has reported 12 more cases of COVID-19 today. Those newly tested positive for the virus are from Birendranagar Municipality, Bheri Municipality and Simta Rural Municipality, confirmed the Health Services Division of the State’s Social Development Ministry. With this, the COVID-19 tally has climbed to 23 in the district.

Tokha area sealed off against COVID-19  

Coronavirus infection has been found in two people at Tokha municipality. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, these are among the 72 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country on Monday.

Ministry issues circular to use new map

The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Sunday sent a circular to all local bodies and the government offices to bring the newly issued updated map of the country in use. Joint secretary and spokesperson at the Ministry Janakraj Joshi said that the Ministry on Sunday circulated a notice to all local bodies and the government offices requesting them to bring the map into use and hang it in their offices.

The Committee meeting taken place at the Singha Durbar today took a decision to this effect. Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota chaired the meeting. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has been directed to immediately proceed towards the implementation of the decision.

India-returnees pose COVID-19 risk in Karnali

Growing number of Nepalis entering the country from Nepal-India border has increased the risk of COVID-19 infection in Surkhet. Three people, who had entered Nepal from India had tested COVID-19 positive on Thursday. According to Surkhet District Public Health Office, out of 790 people who had entered Nepal via Surkhet border point, 13 had tested positive for the virus in Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT).

Old man beaten to death by neighbour

According to police, Yadav was beaten by the neighbour following land dispute. Yadav, who had severe injuries in head and leg, was admitted to the Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital for treatment.
