NA’s fourth chartered flight to Japan tonight, Himalaya Airlines off to China 

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is operating its fourth chartered flight tonight to fly home the stranded Japanese in Nepal. It is the fourth chartered flight of NAC since the enforcement of nationwide lockdown.   

Health worker and police person infected in Banke 

Health workers as well as police personnel in the frontline in the fight against COVID-19 have been found infected with Corona Virus. A police constable stationed at the Narainapur rural municipality, Kalaphanta post has tested positive.   

Monday declared public holiday   

The government has declared Monday a public holiday on the occasion of Id-ul-fitra, the festival of the Muslim community. The cabinet had decided a public holiday for today, but since the moon was not visible from Nepal and south Asia on Saturday it has been postponed for Monday, the Home Ministry has said.    

No of infected reach 172 in State-2 

The number of people infected with Corona Virus has reached 171, with 21 news cases identified in Bara, Sarlahi and Saptari in the last 24 hours. Among the new cases, 20 had returned from India, according to Secretary at the Ministry of Social Development Dr Ram Prasad Ghimire.

Karnali’s first COVID-19 patient feels huge relief after reaching hospital

A 35-year-old man of Athbiskot Municipality from Dailekh was reached at COVID-19 Special hospital after five days of his positive result. Before that, he was kept at a local quarantine established at Narayan Municipality-8 in the district.    

175 Indian workers at brick factories held

The Bhaktapur police held Indian 175 workers at various brick factories in Bhaktapur while returning to India through the BP Highway. They were held on the wee hour on Saturday from Sanga, the border between Bhaktapur and Kavrepalanchok districts.  

Birgunj's nine COVID-19 patients discharged after recovery

Four men from Parsa district including an Indian, two from Bara and three from Rautahat have been discharged from the hospital as they tested negative for COVID-19 in the last two Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test, informed Dr Madan Upadhyaya, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital.

  Seven Gandaki State ministers including CM Gurung test negative for COVID-19  

Gandaki State Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung and other ministers have tested negative for coronavirus.     As said by Health Directorate at State, the Chief Ministers, ministers, secretaries and government employees: a total of 146 people on Tuesday had given swab samples to conduct the PCR tests for COVID-19 in view of the State Assembly meeting summoned for May 24. All the test results are negative.    

65 people kept in quarantine in Chandragiri municipality

Municipality spokesman Hari Bhakta Maharjan said 65 people of the municipality tested positive to coronavirus in the RDT. The municipality had carried out the tests on people who had entered the municipality from various districts during the lockdown.    

11 thousand 587 people from Kavrepalanchok are in foreign land  

Eleven thousand 587 people from Kavrepalanchok district are abroad in various countries including India, the District-level Crisis Management Centre (DCMC) said.

As many as 1,200 people have been rescued and brought home from India through the five transit points over the last one week in Jhapa district.   

Notorious fraudster nabbed for cheating many persons

The Metropolitan Crime Division has arrested a notorious individual who had been faking himself as a Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Armed Police Force and defrauding multiple individuals. According to the division, they arrested 45-year-old Raj Kumar Chapagain, a resident of Ward 3 of Tarkeshwor Municipality, Kathmandu.

NA disposes dead body of COVID-19 infected person in jungle

The meeting of the Hospital management, Nepal Police, Nepal Army and local people’s representatives took the decision to dispose the dead body in a jungle in the eastward from Butwal, according to the District Administration Office, Gulmi.    

People in contact with Gulmi's COVID-19 deceased test negative

Altogether 36 persons from Madane Rural Municipality of Gulmi district were put to test after contract tracing. The report of 25 persons have come negative while the report of remaining 11 is awaited, informed District Health Office, Gulmi’s Information Officer Pashupati Acharya.

Three people who tested positive for the novel coronavirus during the tests conducted at the Bharatpur COVID-19 laboratory have been taken to the Bharatpur Corona Special (provisional) Hospital. 

Two journalists in Kapilvastu test COVID-19 positive

Two local journalists aged 24 and 29 of Kapilvastu tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, said Dirghanarayan Poudel, Chief District Officer of the district. The COVID-19 tally of Kapilvastu has reached 69 until now.

Hotels and resorts to be used for quarantine

Hotels and resorts are to be used as quarantine facilities for accommodating citizens to be brought from abroad.     Minister of State Rambir Manandhar, in a discussions held at the Ministry of Urban Development on Thursday, shared that necessary consultations have begun for managing as quarantine the hotels and resorts operating in systematic manner throughout the country.
