Janakpurdham, May 24 : The number of people infected with Corona Virus has reached 171, with 21 news cases identified in Bara, Sarlahi and Saptari in the last 24 hours. Among the new cases, 20 had returned from India, according to Secretary at the Ministry of Social Development Dr Ram Prasad Ghimire.
Seven of the infected in Bara were station in a quarantine at the Kankalinimai secondary school in Simraugadh municipality. Likewise, a 37-year-old woman of Karaiyamai rural municipality-5 has rested positive to COVID-19. She had been tested after her India-returnee husband had been found infected.
Of the 13 new infections in Sarlahi, 12 had arrived from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Delhi of India. They are being kept in isolation at the Alpmai hospital in Malangwa-2.
So far, 7,945 people have been tested for Corona Virus in State-2. The report of 2,234 is yet to be received. There are 248 quarantine centres in the State, holding 8,119 people while 5,220 are in home quarantine and 170 in isolation, Dr Ghimire said.
