Police detain fugitive Yadav after 11 years

The arrested has been identified as Rajesh Yadav, alias, Dharma Singh, a permanent resident of Duduwa Gaunpalika of Banke district. He is accused of a murder.

   Jin Air will be making Incheon-Kathmandu chartered flight on June 30  

 The South Korea-based Jin Air will be making its first flight to Kathmandu. It is scheduled to make a up-down chartered flight on the Incheon-Kathmandu route on coming June 30.

Chief Minister of Bagmati State government, Dormani Poudel, has carried out a monitoring of some important projects in east Makawanpur. Corruption case against police inspector, forest consumers' chair  

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Sudurpaschim Office has filed a corruption case against police inspector Nrip Bahadur Bohara and chairperson of Kedar Community Forest in the district, Chakra Bahadur Saud. They have been demanded Rs 61,020 in recovery for corruption.  

HAN Pokhara chapter demands exemption of electricity tariff 

The Western Regional Hotel Association Nepal has urged the government to exempt demand tariff of the electricity in the wake of the closure of hotels owing to COVID-19 lockdown. The Association reminded the government that the hotel sector received severe dent due to the spread of coronavirus.

Three vehicles swept by landslides in Palpa, two dead

A car, a truck and a mini truck whose registration number were yet to be ascertained were pushed out of the road by a mudslide flowing from above at the Palpa Gulmi road section on Monday afternoon, according to the police. Registration number of the vehicles is yet to be ascertained.

13 new cases of COVID-19 including 10 in a single ward confirmed in Syangja, district tally climbs to 99

Universal Anesthesia with a ventilator has been made available at Syangja district hospital located at Putali Bazar Municipality-3. Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Padma Aryal, took the initiative for ensuring availability of the ventilator in the district hospital.

Health Ministry managing ventilators and ICUs estimating number of infected  

The Ministry of Health and Population has made arrangements for the medical treatment by making a projection of the probable COVID-19 patients. The Ministry has readied one thousand ventilators and 1,800 ICUs throughout the country by projecting the number of serious coronavirus patients.    

Saptari records 13 new COVID-19 cases, district caseload reaches 173

Of the newly identified COVID-19 patients, two persons aged 29 and 24 are from Hanuman Nagar Kankalini Municipality, four aged 16, 42, 38 and 38 from Balanbihul Rural Municipality, five aged 24, 35, 23, 27 and 31 from Rajgadh Rural Municipality and two aged 38 each are from Rajbiraj Municipality, informed Duniya Lal Yadav, Chief of Saptari District Health Office.

Mustang's Tibetan refugee camp sealed following detection of first COVID-19 case

The camp was sealed after an 82-year old male from Bouddha, Kathmandu tested positive for the virus in RT-PCR. His swab sample was collected after he arrived to the Camp in Mustang, said Bed Prasad Aryal, Chief District Officer (CDO) of Mustang.

Five health workers of Surkhet Provincial Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19 in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test carried out at Surkhet Provincial Hospital/ Avian Disease Investigation Laboratory, Surkhet.

Markets in Patan municipality sealed for week 

Market areas inside the Patan municipality in Baitadi have been sealed off for a week, beginning from today bearing in mind the growing COVID-19 cases in the area. An all-party meeting earlier decided to shut down markets till June 29 in a bid to stem the further spread of the virus, as said by mayor Keshab Bahadur Chand.  

  One dead in motorcycle accident 

A person was killed in a motorcycle accident this morning at Kalika municipality-6 in Chitwan. The District Police Office, Chitwan confirmed the death of Ram Mahato, 27, of Kalika municipality-4 following the accident occurred in the wee hours today.

900 plus Nepalis return home from 10 int’l flights on Sunday

On Sunday, Nepal Airlines Corporation made four flights while Himalayan Airlines, Jazeera Air and Fly Dubai made equal two flights. Altogether 247 including a baby arrived home from Riyadh of Saudi Arabia by an aircraft of Nepal Airlines while 149 passengers including three children returned home from Doha of Qatar in the NAC aircraft.

Three villages sealed off in Gulmi

Residents of the villages--Rotepani, Ukhap and Ripaha--have been asked to remain indoors unless there are emergency works, said the rural municipality chair Top Bahadur Basnet. The infected woman was initially admitted to Lumbini Medical College a week ago after her RDT reports were positive. Her PCR reports were also positive, said the hospital. Her swabs were tested at a laboratory in Bhairahawa.
