With first case in Manang, 47 more test positive for coronavirus in Gandaki State  

Coronavirus infection was confirmed on 47 individuals in the past 24 hours in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), Tanahun, Gorkha, Parbat and Manang district of the Gandaki State. The tally of coronavirus infected ones reached 294 including 15 women in the State.    

  COVID-19: Tally crosses 1,100 in Karnali State

The total number of coronavirus infected has crossed 1,100 in Karnali State, an official confirmed.     Chief of Health Service Division at Social Development Ministry Dr Laxmi Narayan Tiwari said that the number of infected reached 1,104 including 82 females with the addition of 18 more cases on Wednesday in the State.

Traffic resumes along Narayanghat-Muglin section   

The Narayangadh-Muglin road section, which was obstructed from 4:15 am on Wednesday after a landslide, opened for traffic at 10:00 last night.    

Private operators want to graze elephants in Chitwan National Park

Private elephant operating organisations of Sauraha have sought permission to graze their animals near the Chitwan National Park (CNP) forest. United Elephants Cooperative, the governing body of private elephant operators, held a press conference in Sauraha, Chitwan on Wednesday and asked for permission to graze their tuskers near the park forest, saying that they had no money to feed them.

Govt opens license for 10 non-petroleum mines

The Department of Mines and Geology (DMG) has opened licenses of 10 mines ranging from coal to gold located in various districts across the country. Of the total non-petroleum mines opened for licensing, three are of copper, two of limestone, and one each of salt, gold, coal, kaoline and granite. The DMG has published a notice on Wednesday to bid out mining license of four mines and prospecting licenses for the remaining sites.

Ilam locals initiate park construction despite obstruction from Indian SSB

Indian border security, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), has been obstructing the work since it was started two months ago although the park construction site is 500 meters into Nepal from the no man's land at the border between Nepal and India. The park construction has been started by a user's group in the initiative of Jit Bahadur Rai, chair of Maijogmai Rural Municipality. Tumling, the park construction location, lies in ward number 2 of the Maijogmai RM in Ilam district.

A team from Metropolitan Police Circle Maharajgunj had arrested 12 individuals from a rented room of Manju Magar in Ward 11 of Tokha Municipality Tuesday evening.

Salyan's 41 COVID-19 patients discharged after recovery

Six COVID-19 patients receiving treatment at Salyan District Hospital and 35 in isolation center set up at Salyan Multiple Campus from age group of three to 60 have been discharged after recovery, said Dr Arjun Budha, chief of the isolation center.

Narayangadh- Muglin road blocked 

The Narayangadh-Muglin road has been obstructed due to the land slide at Kalikhola on the highway, the District Police Office (DPO) Chitwan said. The landslide occurred at 4.15 this morning at Kalikhola of Icchakamana rural municipality-6. 

People declining in Banke quarantines

With a large number of people coming from India, around 10,000 people have been kept in 108 quarantines in the district. However, some 7,221 people have been sent to their homes after their swab report for coronavirus tested negative, according to the health office in the district.
