Police resorts to blank fire in Pokhara after locals oppose cremation of COVID-19 dead

After the locals obstructed the police in burying dead body of COVID-19 patient by burning tyre in Pokhara Metropolitan City-32, the Police opened six rounds of blank fire to take the situation under control.

Banke's 23 COVID-19 patients discharged after recovery, 59 in isolation

According to Naresh Shrestha, Focal Person of Banke District Health Office, 12 COVID-19 patients of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-7, four of Kohalpur, five of Khajura and three of Nepalgunj were discharged after testing negative for COVID-19.

Lightning claims four in Saptari  

Four persons were killed in lightning occurred at two different places of Saptari district this morning.     Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Tilak Bharati, informed that Chhedi Thakur, 60, and Bechan Yadav, 27, of Mahadewa Rural Municipality-2 died when the lightning struck them near Koshi Bridge. Both of them were heading to Saptakoshi River to take bath.  

Two persons dead on road accident  

Two persons died in a road accident occurred last night at Kalyanpur in Saptari along the East-West Highway, according to the police. The deceased are 30-year-old motorcyclist Birendra Das and his mother Sudhanidevi, 50, of Khadak Municipality-5 in the district.
