By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, June 23: The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MPTD) has returned 30 motorcycles to the respective owners that had been stolen in different dates from the Kathmandu Valley during lockdown.
Deploying police officials in plain clothes, the Division has been able to recover 30 stolen motorcycles, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Spokesperson of MPTD, Bhim Dhakal.
The motorcycles were stolen from Mehpi, Balkot, Kirtipur, Thamel, Singamangal, Basundhara, Naya Bazar, Baniyatar, Chobhar, Kapan, Budhanilkantha, Gorkarneshwor, Kumaripati, New Bus Park, Kesharmahal, Tokha, New Road, Old Baneshwore, Trauma Centre, Maharajgunj, Nayabasti, Pashupati parking area, Bhimsengola, Mandikhatar and Chabahil.
The recovered two-wheelers were handed over to the respective vehicle owners amidst a function at the Division Tuesday.
SSP Dhakal suggested people not to park their vehicles for long time anywhere in the parking lot, ceremony area, hospital area, and outside the home compound.
For additional precaution to avoid unnecessary stealing of the vehicle, the vehicle owners could install extra locking system and alarm bell, said SSP Dhakal.
During the Fiscal Year 2019/20, the MTPD has recovered 308 stolen bikes and detained 36 thieves involved.
