Khotang, June 22 : A foundation stone was laid for the construction of a RCC bridge over the Tapkhola rivulet along the Diktel Rupakot-Baksila Bazaar road section.
State Assembly member Rajan Rai on Saturday laid the foundation stone for the bridge linking Baksila bazaar in the northern part of the district.
Rural municipality chief Krishna Kumar Rai said the bridge construction has started at the joint investment of the State Ministry for Physical Infrastructure Development, Transport Infrastructure Directorate and Infrastructure Development Programme State-1 Nepal, Udayapur. Total construction cost estimated for the bridge with 37-meter length and 8.4 meter breadth is around Rs 76.12 million.
It is stated in the contract that the Rauta-Roshan-Susham-Aditya JV which was contracted award on last May 21 is obliged to complete the bridge construction by 23 November 2021.
Contractor Company's representative Laxman Basnet said that the works are in progress to complete bridge construction before the stipulated timeline.
