Phulpingkatti landslide repeat increases fear   

Landslide has occurred two times at Phulpingkatti of Bhotekoshi rural municipality-4 last night.     A local, Buddhi Gurung, said the people in the area are in fear after the occurrence of multiple landslides on Thursday night. Two people were killed and three others from the same family had gone missing in the landslide occurred on Thursday.    

Poudel assumes office as NA Spokesperson   

Brigadier General Santosh Ballav Poudel has been designated the Spokesperson of the Nepal Army. Poudel assumed the responsibility at a programme organised at the Nepal Army Directorate of Public Relations and Information today.   

  Smuggled goods worth Rs 1.4 million confiscated

The Kanchanpur Police on Thursday night confiscated clothes and electric items while these products were being imported without paying tax. The confiscation was made from the Bhimduttanagar Bazar area at Bhimdutta municipality -4.    

Landslide leaves three people dead in Kaski  

A landslide occurred at Machhapuchhre rural municipality of Kaski district had left three people dead this morning.     The landslide that blanketed the house of local Prem Raj BK at Khorakomukn in the ward-8 at around 5.45 am killed his two grandsons (Kushal, 15, and Samir, 14) and a granddaughter Rejina BK, 16), informed ward chair Krishna Prasad Dawadi. 

Army code-of-ethics weeklong orientation kicks off  

Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa has directed the entire army rank and file to keep army norms and values, conducts, patriotism, selfless service motivation and higher discipline.     Inaugurating a weeklong programme on code-of-ethics 2020 at Nepal Army Headquarters at Bhadrakali, Thapa said the code-of-ethics is a useful guideline for life between and beyond the service.    

Dozen of villages in Madhyabindu at high risk of inundation, erosion

A local Yogman Chaudhary said that more than five kattha of lands he owned was eroded by the River in this rainy season. Ward Chair Amar Mahato shared that over 100 bigha of land was damaged by the river with inundation and erosion, displacing hundreds of locals.

Shelter managed to landslide displaced households

The households from Shilichong-1 of Sankhuwasabha district have been managed shelters after they were displaced with landslides last Sunday. Nepal Army Baraha Dal constructed the temporary shelters to the displaced ones at local Budhbare bazaar.    

  Five missing in Phulping landslides  

Five persons have gone missing in a landslide occurred at Phulpingkatti village of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4 in Sindhupalchowk.     The landslide triggered last mid night with heavy rainfall also swept away two houses in the village, Vice Chairperson of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality Dabuti Sherpa said.

The body of Satish Goit, 25, project engineer has been found at Palchowki crusher located at Melamchi municipality-11 at 4:00 pm today, said Police Inspector at the Area Police Office, Melamchi, Phal Bahadur Tamang.

Rautahat's 36-year old succumbs to COVID-19, death toll reaches 39

A 36-year old COVID-19 patient from Parva Municipality-7, Rautahat district, breathed his last today at 2:30 PM in Narayani Hospital, Birgunj. He had returned to Nepal from Banglore, India on July 8. After he suffered from difficulties in breathing, he was admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Narayani Hospital, Birgunj on July 13.
