Youth dead in Tanahun shooting   

A youth died in a shooting incident occurred at Thaprek of Shuklagandaki Municipality-1 in Tanahun district last night. The deceased is Rohit Malla, 17, of the same area, the District Police Office, Tanahun said.    

Pun elected NC Lumbini Province President   

Amar Singh Pun has been elected the President of the Nepali Congress (NC) Lumbini Province Committee. Of the total 1,631 votes cast, Pun got 867 votes from the voting held Sunday while his rival Bharat Kumar Shah managed to secure 767 votes, Election Officer Dr Buddha Bahadur Thapa said.  

East-West Highway obstructed over killing of man in road accident   

The East-West Highway here has been obstructed by local people who have been protesting the killing of an elderly man in a road accident near Banka in Krishnapur Municipality-1 in Kanchanpur district today morning. The agitating local people and family and relatives of the deceased have obstructed the highway by placing the body of the deceased on the road.

PICU service operative in Maulakalika Hospital in Chitwan   

The Maulakalika Hospital in Chitwan district has begun offering pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) services from today.   Inaugurating the 8-bed PICU service, Bagmati Province Assembly member Bijaya Subba said that the Hospital services should be cooperative rather than competitive.    

Rain, snowfall forecasted  

The country's weather pattern has witnessed the westerly trough and low pressure system formed in the Arab sea. As a result, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places in Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudur Pashchim Province today, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Leopard enters classroom in India

A leopard was captured in the northern Indian city of Aligarh after it entered a school and attacked a student. The student, who suffered minor injuries, said he ran out of the classroom when he saw the animal hiding there.

National Tiger Survey: 900 trapping cameras and 100 enumerators to mobilize 

Nine hundred cameras and 100 enumerators are to be mobilized in the National Tiger Survey that kicks off from December 5. The programme would be inaugurated and launched from the Chitwan National Park at Sauraha. It is said 900 cameras and 100 enumerators would be pressed into service for conducting the survey in the Chitwan-Parsa complex.
