Govt preparing 100-day action plan for possible third wave of COVID

The government on Sunday [floated an idea of introducing a 100-day plan to prevent and control coronavirus and the possible surge of the third wave. A meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs in presence of Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand, Minister of State for Health and Population Umesh Shrestha, along with the government officials, discussed the planning.

Country reports 3,106 new COVID-19 cases

A total of 3,106 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. New cases were detected from 9,263 RT-PCR tests and 4,256 antigen tests conducted during this period, the Ministry said.

Chinese envoy meets Finance Minister Sharma

The government on Friday was advised to begin preparations to enforce smart restriction based on fact and evidence to contain the possible outbreak of the third wave of COVID-19 in the country. A meeting of the Directive Committee of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at Singha Durbar this evening was suggested to enforce smart lockdown based on the actual cases of the virus in specific area, district and region.
