Kathmandu, July 31: A total of 3,106 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. New cases were detected from 9,263 RT-PCR tests and 4,256 antigen tests conducted during this period, the Ministry said.
Kathmandu reported the highest number of new cases with 517 followed by Chitwan (232), Kaski (202), Morang (169) and Lalitpur (164).
The Ministry said that 23 people succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 fatality caseload to 9,857.
Similarly, 1,916 COVID-19 patients got full recovery from the infection taking the total recovery cases to 654,177 as of July 31. The recovery rate stands at 94.1 per cent, the Ministry said.
The number of active cases currently stands at 31,355. The Ministry said that the number of active cases in Kathmandu is 5,995 and 1,134 in Bhaktapur while 1,540 in the Lalitpur district.
