Two deaths in 24 hrs, heavy rains forecast for five days

Although the country has been witnessing moderate to heavy rains in major parts of the country, the whole nation recorded only two casualties in the water-induced incidents in the last 24 hours. Monsoon trough caused by the easterly wind has entered Nepal from the east on Sunday afternoon and is likely to cause heavy rains in major parts of the country for the next five days, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Authority (NDRRMA).

Shuklaphanta becomes home for rare birds

Shuklaphanta National Park, famous for Barhasingha (swamp deer), has become the only protected area in Nepal where the endangered golden weaverbird is found. After the species stopped being seen in other protected areas, Suklaphanta has become the only habitat for the golden weaverbird in the far-west of the country. CIAA receives largest number of complaints

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has received the largest number of complaints in its history of 30 years in the fiscal year 2019/2020. The CIAA received a total of 24,890 complaints and finalised 16,586 cases in the fiscal year 2019/2020. Likewise, the CIAA filed 441 cases in the Special Court and succeeded in 84.8 percent of cases.
