NRB announces refinancing procedures for COVID-hit industries

The Nepal Rastra Bank has set the period and ceiling of the refinancing facility to the business and industries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Refinancing facility provided to the banks and financial institutions (BFIs) by the NRB would be repaid within a year’s period and would not be renewed, according to the Refinancing Procedures, 2020 published by the central bank on Tuesday.

Transportation entrepreneurs have decided to operate public vehicles from Thursday. Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs Association decided to operate the public vehicles following the address of their demands through the monetary policy of Nepal Rastra Bank.

Public transportation services to resume from July 23

World Bank supported youth employment plan launched

The ‘Youth Employ-ment Transformation Initiative’ project was jointly launched Monday by Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Rameshwor Raya Yadav and World Bank Country Director for the Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka, Faris Hadad-Zervos. Govt begins process to revive state-owned sick enterprises

The government has again started a process to revive various state-owned sick enterprises.The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has recently formed a six-member task force to study the prospects of reviving the state-owned sick industries. The task force coordinated by former secretary Deepak Subedi has Jeevaraj Koirala, Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatta and Krishna Prasad Acharya as the members, as experts from industry, finance and commerce sectors respectively.
