Huaxin Cement starts test production

Huaxin Cement Narayani, a Nepali-Chinese joint venture cement factory, has started test production from its plant in Dhading from Saturday. The test production took place in the presence of the company officials and workers. Marking its 115th year of producing cements, Huaxin Cement celebrated with the ignition of its plant jointly by 115 workers.

Five species of birds in critical condition

Five species of birds from Nepal are in critical condition, the ornithologists have found. In the current mid-winter bird count, five species of birds were found to be in critical condition, said senior ornithologist and national coordinator for the count Dr. Hem Sagar Baral. According to him, Golden-fronted Leafbird is the most endangered species.

Paddy production declines in Sudurpashchim

Soyabean oil emerges from nowhere to boost export, forex reserve

Nepal’s export had crossed the Rs. 100 billion mark for the first time last year. In the last Fiscal Year 2020/21, Nepal exported goods worth Rs. 141.1 billion while the size of export trade was Rs. 97.7 billion in FY 2019/20. This celebration of success is massively backed by a new product that was not in the commercial scene until about a couple years ago - soyabean oil. Soyabean oil worth Rs. 53.65 billion last year, about a triple-fold growth from Rs. 18.3 billion in 2019/20.

Janakpur rail chugs in two years

The Janakpur-Jayanagar train owned by the Nepal Railway Company has run on its tracks for the second time in two years. The Indian Railways handed over the train to the Nepal railway Company on October 21, 2020. Since then, the train has only been taken round its tracks two times, the second time being on Saturday when it was driven as part of a test.
