A security squad from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division today arrested Yuba Raj Neupane from Gorkha in possession of 100 thousand units of facemasks.

Friendly football match between Nepal and England postponed  

The match scheduled for May 25 and to be played in England has been postponed due to the fear over COVID-19 pandemic which has spread globally, All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) said. ANFA said the game has been postponed until a new date was fixed.  

Ministry appoints focal person in each State to coordinate with local levels on COVID-19

Ministry's Local and Coordination Section Chief Baburam Adhikari said, the government's under-secretary has been deputed as the focal person in each state who will play a coordinating role in creating awareness against the coronavirus (COVID-19), in its prevention and containment and addressing issues facing the local levels.

Death of five persons in Mahottari frightens entire village 

Death of five persons in a span of three days at the then Manara village of Manarasiswa municipality-1 in the district has intimidated the entire settlements.     The persons died from excessive alcohol consumption, doctors confirmed. However, the local people suspected doctor's findings, saying they might have died from other causes.

SEE preparations complete: unnecessary gathering of people at exam centres banned 

This year's Secondary Education Examination (SEE) is taking place from tomorrow or March 19. The National Examinations Board, Office of the Controller of Examinations has said all preparations for the exam have been completed.

Call to check black marketing 

Former Industry Minister and Member of Parliament Mahesh Basnet has urged the local administration to check black marketing in the district. The urge was made in response to widespread public complaints about artificial shortage created by traders.    

Health test must for Indo-Nepal entry 

Entry through the Indo-Nepal border is to be prohibited on both sides without a medical examination. Nepali and Indian authorities have agreed to stop entry without medical verification in order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. 

COVID-19 help desk in Sarlahi

A help desk has been established at the District Administration Office here in order to carry out medical examination concerning the Coronavirus. The help desk was established by the Bagmati Sewa Samaj Nepal.   

Sauraha to have 1000-capacity city hall   

Sauraha, a popular tourist destination in Chitwan will also have a city hall.     A city hall with a capacity to host 1,000 people will be constructed in Sauraha. It is estimated to cost Rs. 352.27 million, according to Prakash Aryal, chief of Federal Urban and Building Project Chitwan.
