Bharatpur, March 18 : Sauraha, a popular tourist destination in Chitwan will also have a city hall.
A city hall with a capacity to host 1,000 people will be constructed in Sauraha. It is estimated to cost Rs. 352.27 million, according to Prakash Aryal, chief of Federal Urban and Building Project Chitwan.
The contract has been awarded to Religer Construction Private Limited Lalitpur. Former Finance Minister and Chitwan member of parliament Surendra Pandey laid foundation for the city hall at a function held here on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Pandey expressed the confidence that the new city hall would help socio-economic development as well as boost tourism in Sauraha.
The city hall is being constructed at the land that the Ratnanagar municipality took black from illegal occupiers of public land.
