Foreigners have to wait for further notice to trek in Nepal

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has informed about the closure of distribution of trekking information management system (TIMS) cards until a further notice though a press statement today and with this, no foreign national will be eligible for trekking here. The decision comes into effect from today itself.

COVID-19: courts to close business till April 3

Karnali state establishes health desk as prevention against COVID-19   

As said by Directorate information officer Laxmi Prasad Bhattarai, so far body temperature of 420,300 people has been measured and among them, 80 had 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit fever. They were urged to stay at home and take precautions. 

Three more arrested for their involvement in bomb explosion at Banskota's house 

Police on Thursday evening arrested three more persons on the charge of carrying out pressure cooker bomb explosion at Lokanthali-based house of former Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Banskota. 

NA meeting postponed 

A meeting of the National Assembly called for today has been postponed until further notice.     The meeting was postponed by issuing a notice keeping government's request not to gather more than 25 people in any meeting and gathering, making aware about the risk of possible infection of COVID-19.    

  Effective campaign in place to rein in coronavirus infection 

The government has issued a 13-point directive to prevent coronavirus risks. A meeting presided over by Chief Minister Shanker Pokharel stressed on devising massive public awareness drive against threat of coronavirus. Likewise, all District Administration Offices in the state have strictly regulated the mobility of pilgrims via Nepal India border points till the COVID risks are mitigated. 

Vaccination drive in Kaski from March 23 to April 4 

The first phase will be in place at the wards of Machhapuchhre, Rupa, Annapurna and Modi rural municipality as well as previous Village Development Committees integrated into Pokhara metropolis from March 23-30 while the second phase will be placed in the wards of Metropolitan city from April 2-4, shared in-charge of District Health Office, Baburam Acharya.

Call to mobilize additional health workers at Kakadbhitta checkpoint

He directed the Chief District Officer and local chiefs of the police units to not allow crowded gathering at checkpoint, shut open local haat bazaar and restrict people's mobility to India for unnecessary purpose as measures towards preventing the spread of coronavirus.
