Vice President calls for unprecedented national unity in his New Year 2077 message 

Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said the New Year 2077 Bikram Sambat (BS) will provide inspiration to all the Nepalis to demonstrate unprecedented national unity in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

14 Nepali dead, 665 infected by COVID-19 abroad

According to data collected by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), the above mentioned death tolls are from the United Kingdom (8), the United States of America (five) and the United Arab Emirates (1).

COVID-19 test begins in Bhaktapur Hospital   

The test for COVID-19 among the suspected ones in the district has begun in Bhaktapur Hospital after the Hospital received the kit for rapid diagnosis of the infection.    

Lightning kills two, injures nine   

Two persons died and nine others got injury after being struck by lightning in the district last night. The dead ones are 13-year-old Rajmani Rai and 38-year –old Nirmala Bishwokarma from Kopilasgadhi rural municipality-1 of the district.    

Bagmati State government announces vacancies for 166 medical persons  

The Bagmati State government is preparing to appoint 166 medical workforce including specialists, doctors, nurses and other health workers in different 36 posts. The State Ministry of Social Development is learnt to have been proceeding towards that end. 

Lightning kills a woman, elderly dies in buffalo attack   

A 52-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by lightning at Panchkhapan in Sankhuwasabha district on Saturday night.    

Insurance coverage for doctors, security persons and journalists   

The State government has initiated life insurance for medical personnel, security persons and media persons working for prevention and control of Corona Virus in the State. A meeting of the State government has decided to provide an insurance coverage of Rs. 1.5 million for them, according to the Chief Minister's Secretariat.    

Freed Haliya find difficult to make ends meet   

The freed Haliya families in the far-west are finding it difficult to have a mouthful, as a result of the nationwide lockdown imposed by the government to stem the spread of Corona virus in the country. As majority of the former bonded labourers depend on daily wage for livelihood they have been directly affected by the lockdown.    

282 test negative in State-1 

Real time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test and Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) for Corona Virus has shown negative result in 282 people in State-1 so far. A total of 211 samples collected for testing were sent to the Koshi Zonal Hospital, Biratnagar and BP Koirala Institute of Health Science, Dharan from various parts of the State.
