PM Deuba pledges to act against corruption 

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the government is committed to preventing corruption. While receiving an annual report of the National Vigilance Centre today, the head of the government pledged the government support towards Centre’s every step against corruption.   

Bagmati province government to set up fertilizer industries

The Bagmati province government is to set up three fertilizer industries at different places in the province. The province Council of Ministers which met on Monday decided to forward the process of opening fertilizer industries in collaboration with a Thai company, Bagmati province government spokesperson and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Krishna Sharma Khanal, said.

Bird flu detected at two locations in Morang   

The cases of bird flu have been confirmed at two locations of Morang, the district in Province 1. According to the Department of Livestock Services, the detection of avian influenza (H5N1 virus) has been confirmed at Khuniyakatta of Gramthan-1 and Budhiganga-5 through a laboratory test.    

Bagmati province government declares public holiday on Sonam Lhosar, Nwagi festival   

The Bagmati province government has decided to give public holiday on the occasion of the Sonam Lhosar and Nwagi festivals. The Sonam Lhosar is a special festival celebrated by the Tamang community and the Nwagi is the major festival observed by the Chepang community.

Canada PM tests positive for COVID, rips anti vaccine demo

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday he has tested positive for COVID-19 but is “feeling fine” and will continue to work remotely from home. Trudeau said two of his children have COVID-19 and a test Monday revealed he has been infected as well.

Fire destroys property   

Properties worth hundreds of thousand rupees were destroyed in a fire occurred at three shops of Malta bazaar at Chhededaha Rural Municipality-3 in Bajura on Monday. The District Police Office informed that the fire damaged the properties of three shopkeepers including Sher Bahadur Rawat.   

Two die in motorcycle accident  

Two persons died on the spot in a motorcycle accident occurred at Deurali of Byas Municipality in Tanahu last night. Those killed in the accident were Bache Magar and Bikas BK from Byas Municipality-5, according to the District Police Office, Tanahu.

The Ministry of Health and Population has instructed its subordinate bodies to send the details of vaccines and vaccinations against corona virus.
