Registration of industries increases

According to the Department, 103 domestic and foreign industries were registered till mid-January of the previous fiscal year. The number of domestic and foreign industries in the corresponding period of the current fiscal year has reached 154.

Man dies of altitude sickness

Thirty-one years old Bishal Magar of Tunibot, Phalelung Rural Municipality-5 died at local Dhoopidanda. Bishal and his younger brother Bikram Magar, at 12.30 pm on Wednesday, were heading towards Aahal, the highland near the border with India where their herds of yaks were stationed.

Campaign to illuminate Bharatpur begins 

Works have been started to fix ‘smart street lamp’ at major roads and areas in the Bharatpur Metropolis. The campaign aims to illuminate the town with the joint efforts of the Bharatpur Metropolitan City Office and the Nepal Electricity Authority.

Former Councillor of Foxton City in London, Dhan Kiran Gurung has announced to establish computer lab at all community schools of Mechinagar municipality.    

Air service in Baitadi closed for month 

The air service is closed for a month in Baitadi. Although the Baitadi-Dhangadhi flight was started on December 31, it remains suspended since then. The Summit Air operated the weekly flight on Friday.     Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Baitadi's senior officer Deepak Bhatta said the flights wereoperated regularly but they had to be suspended at present as there are no passengers.   

Home Minister Khand enquires CDOs about law and order situation 

Home Minister Balkrishna Khand has enquired with Chief District Officers about the situation of law and order in the districts. He telephoned the chief district officers of 14 districts this morning to know the security situation of the districts.  

Three involved in networking business busted   

Three persons involved in networking business were busted. According to the District Police Office, three persons were arrested for allegedly involved in online networking business.     Police said that the accused were arrested acting on a complaint lodged by a victim.

NC intensifies campaign to set up revolving fund for institutional development

Nepali Congress Baglung Constituency-1 has intensified its campaign to set up a revolving fund of Rs 5 million. NC Baglung Constituency 1 President Chandi Prasad Sharma Poudel shared that the party has so far collected Rs 2 million in the period of last one month.    

LMC effortful to keep high standards of bill related to security printing   

The Legislation Management Committee of the National Assembly (NA) has been effortful to speed up the formulation of a law related to security printing without compromising its standards. Of late, the LMC has been holding clause-wise discussion with the experts and stakeholders on the bill formulated to manage security printing that can check annual outflow of Rs 10 billion for security printing. 

Government to honour returnee migrant worker-turned entrepreneurs

The government is to honour the returnee migrant workers so as to encourage them to adopt self-employment measures. In this connection, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, issuing a notice on Wednesday, solicited applications from those who adopted enterprises after returning from overseas employment.
