Man killed due to lightning 

A person died after lightning struck him at Rajabas of Katari municipality-3 in Udayapur district on Thursday. The victim is 61-year-old Li Bahadur Sunuwar of Rajabas.   

Former king returns to Kathmandu 

Former king Gyanendra Shah has left here for Kathmandu this morning.     He had been staying at his house at the Himalaya Mahalaxmi Tea Garden at Damak of Jhapa district since some days before the government announced lockdown to stem the spread of COVID-19.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has expanded coverage of tests for novel coronavirus in view of the increasing risk of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley.    

Health supplies sent to various States 

The government has despatched 14 thousand 700 units rapid diagnostic test (RDT) kits to various States by land and air route with the objective of expanding the scope of COVID-19 tests.

Lockdown tightened in Surkhet  

The district administration has tightened the ongoing lockdown in the district from today. Police here started monitoring the vehicles and asked locals to strictly follow the lockdown order.    

Siraha placed under curfew after surge in number of COVID-19 cases in State 2 

 A curfew order has been issued in Siraha district as precaution after the number of people infected by coronavirus started increasing daily in the neighbouring districts of State-2.    

New education system imperative after COVID-19 outbreak: Prachanda 

Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stressed the need of new education system in the world. He said that deadly COVID-19 outbreak has knocked the world for rethinking on new education system to tackle such pandemic situation. 

RDT kits shortage hits Bajura  

Shortage of rapid diagnostic test (RDT) kits has hampered tests for novel coronavirus in Bajura district. As a result, 160 people, who had come to the district from outside districts and kept in quarantine, have been sent home without conducting tests. It is mandatory to conduct tests for coronavirus on people staying in quarantine before they are sent home after 14 days ' stay in quarantine.    

Chinese government hands over medical supplies 

The government of the People's Republic of China has provided medical supplies to the Nepali Army.     China's ambassador to Nepal, Hou Yanqui, handed over the medical goods to be used for responding to COVID-19 to the Chief of Army Staff, Purna Chandra Thapa on Wednesday.
