India provides PCR testing kits to Nepal

The Government of India has provided PCR kits to Nepal. India's ambassador to Nepal, Vinay Mohan Kwatra today called on Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal and handed over 3,000 kits to the latter.    

NCC offers recommendations for new budget

Police today made public a youth arrested on charge of raping a 15-year-old girl at Aaurahawa in Krishnanagar Municipality ward no. 11 in Kapilvastu district. 

Vyas Municipality setting up more fruits, vegetables collection centres 

Vyas Muncipality in Tanahun district is expediting the efforts to set up fruits and vegetable collection centres with an aim to facilitate the farmers for the sale of their produces and help to make them self-reliant. Out of 14 wards, such centres are being establishing in 11 wards in the municipality, the officials said.    

Prime Minister condoles death from COVID-19   

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has condoled the death of a woman from coronavirus. ''I am deeply saddened by the death of a new mother from Sinddhupalchowk district due to the virus even after the government's efforts to prevent the human casualty from the COVID-19 infection,” the Prime Minister wrote in his Twitter this morning.  

96 Nepalis dead, near 7000 infected by COVID-19 worldwide 

A total of 96 non-resident Nepalis have died of Coronavirus in different parts of the world as of Saturday. The highest number of deaths has been recorded in the United Kingdom, where 63 have died, according to the Non-Resident Nepalis Association.    

50 Indian citizens apprehended in Dhulikhel

The District Administration Office, Kavrepalanchowk has apprehended 50 Indian citizens who arrived here early morning from Sindhupalchowk. They reportedly arrived on a container van.    

Elderly dies in attack by elephant 

An elderly has died in an attack by a wild elephant at Kachankawal rural municipality, south Jhapa. The deceased has been identified as 80-year-old Brikha Bahadur Rai of ward no. 7 in the rural municipality.
