Monday declared public holiday   

The government has declared Monday a public holiday on the occasion of Id-ul-fitra, the festival of the Muslim community. The cabinet had decided a public holiday for today, but since the moon was not visible from Nepal and south Asia on Saturday it has been postponed for Monday, the Home Ministry has said.    

All new infections in far-west from Baitedi  

The number of people infected with Corona Virus has reached 14 in Sudur Paschim state. Of them, five have already recovered while nine are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.

Three houses in New Baneswar sealed off 

Three houses in New Baneswar in ward no. 10 of Kathmandu metropolis have been sealed off after a police personnel living in one of the houses tested positive to Corona Virus. The three houses behind Varosha hospital have been sealed off and contact tracing begun, said ward member Naroj Aryal.    

Villagers beat one to death, six missing  

A youth died after being beaten up by villagers in Soti of Chaurjahari municipality, Rukum west last night. The deceased has been identified as Nawaraj BK of Ranagaon in Bheri municipality-4, Jajarkot.   

No of infected reach 172 in State-2 

The number of people infected with Corona Virus has reached 171, with 21 news cases identified in Bara, Sarlahi and Saptari in the last 24 hours. Among the new cases, 20 had returned from India, according to Secretary at the Ministry of Social Development Dr Ram Prasad Ghimire.

A 35-year-old man of Athbiskot Municipality from Dailekh was reached at COVID-19 Special hospital after five days of his positive result. Before that, he was kept at a local quarantine established at Narayan Municipality-8 in the district.

Lawmaker demands food supply by helicopter in Darchula

Meeting the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply, Lekharaj Bhatta, recently, lawmaker Dhagunna said the government could manage food supply in Chhangru and Tinkar people by helicopter as there was no better option than this to supply food. In Nepali side, there is no way for beast of burden to carry the load. The people however reach Kucha from Khalanga on foot to collect food.
