HoR passing Constitution (2nd amendment) Bill today   

The House of Representatives (HoR) is passing the Constitution (2nd amendment) Bill, 2077 to include the revised map of Nepal in the country's emblem today. The bill is presented to amend Schedule 3 of the constitution which includes Nepal's map incorporating Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani.  

Monsoon arrives, call to remain alert  

This year's monsoon has entered Nepal - delaying by two days (than of tentative time) to arrive in the country. Monsoon this time made its entry from the eastern part in the evening of June 12 and its activities are likely to be accelerated ahead.    

Corona Hospital's patients being shifted to Bharatpur   

Patients in the Bharatpur Corona Special (temporary) Hospital are to be shifted to the Bharatpur Hospital as the corona facility needs to be repaired.    

Karnali State faces health resource shortage 

The Karnali State is facing acute shortage of human resources in health sectors of late. At a time when entire country is fighting against the spread of COVID-19, the State is found adversely affected in its control and prevention activities due to lack of required health workers and doctors.    

Sajha party for halt in demonstrations   

The Sajha Party has appealed to all sides concerned to postpone the demonstrations being held across the country. As the government has committed to making the details of the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment expenses public and increase effectiveness of the action plan against the pandemic, it should be given benefit of the doubt.

Call for immediate rescue   

The Non-resident Nepalis Association regional coordinators have urged the Government of Nepal to rescue Nepalis stranded in various countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic as soon as possible. Many Nepalis including those who lost their job and those abroad for various reasons remain stranded due to internal lockdown and closure in air service.   

Woman gives birth in Quarantine  

A woman quarantined in the Naubahini rural municipality has given birth last night. Saraswati Pun,18, gave birth to a baby boy at the Nera basic school quarantine in ward no. 7 of the rural municipality last night.    

COVID-19: five new cases in Gandaki 

Five new cases of Corona Virus have been confirmed in Parbat and Nawalparasi (east) today. According to the 6:00 am bulletin published by State Health Directorate, Pokhara, four people in Parbat and one in Nawalparasi tested positive to the virus.    

Concern over lack of PCR and RDT kits   

Local levels in Gulmi have expressed concern over the failure to receive PCR reports for Corona Virus on time as well as necessary health and medical supplies from the State government. Furthermore, they said that they have run out of PCR and RDT kits as well.
