Kathmandu, June 13 : The House of Representatives (HoR) is passing the Constitution (2nd amendment) Bill, 2077 to include the revised map of Nepal in the country's emblem today. The bill is presented to amend Schedule 3 of the constitution which includes Nepal's map incorporating Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Shivamaya Tumbahangphe will be presenting a proposal for clause-wise discussion on the Constitution (2nd amendment) Bill, 2077 in the parliament. After the deliberation is over in the Bill, the proposal for its passage is presented again in the parliament, according to parliament secretariat.
It needs two-third majority to pass the Bill. The government had registered the Bill in the federal parliament on May 22 and Minister Tumabahangphe presented it in the parliament on May 24.
The HoR meeting on June 9 passed unanimously the proposal, seeking consideration on the bill.
After the HoR passes the Bill on two-third majority, it goes to the National Assembly for the same.
The major opposition NC, Socialist Party, Rastriya Janata Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party have already decided to vote for the Bill.
