Goods container plunges into Trishuli river  

A goods container bound towards Kathmandu from Biratnagar fell into the Trishuli river from near Nagdikhola of Ichhakamana Rural Municipality-5 this morning.     The container has gone missing in the river. The vehicle with number plate Na 3 Kha 8987 fell off the road as it collided with a truck (Na 6 Kha 5687), the District Police Office, Chitwan said. The driver of the truck is slightly injured in the incident and is being treated at a local medical facility. 

NAC's aircraft with 238 NA peacekeepers leaves for South Sudan  

An aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation carrying 238 Nepalese Army peacekeepers has left for Juba in South Sudan.     The peacekeeping mission has taken place under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan programme. The aircraft will transit in Muscat of Oman.    

Landslide obstructs Prithvi highway   

The Prithvi highway has been obstructed due to landslide at Kurintar.     According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the road section at Kurintar has been disrupted after landslide took place at Ichchhakamana rural municipality-4 at 9:00 am today.   

KMC to launch all services via one-door policy   

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has decided to adopt one-door policy in service delivery.     The KMC has different 13 departments and all services would be soon delivered from one-door policy considering service recipients' demand and need.   

Flood flows through human settlements; four went missing   

Normal life in Kailali has been affected due to incessant rain occurred since Tuesday evening.     The downpour has left the eastern belt of the district waterlogged. Hundreds of houses have been submerged and four people went missing in the floods occurred in different rivers of the districts following the rainfalls. .     Police informed four people went missing from different areas of Bhajani municipality in the district.    

Increasing water level in Karnali poses threat to human settlements 

Local residents have become fearful with the rise in water level in the rivers and rivulets following the incessant rainfall.     Some parts of the district are at high risk of floods and landslides so fear is looming large among the locals due to torrential rain.    

NSU yet to get full shape   

The ad hoc committee of the Nepal Student Union – the student wing of the Nepali Congress (NC) – has not yet taken a full shape.     Although the committee was formed six months back under the leadership of Rajib Dhungana, it has yet to get a complete shape.    

Local levels identifying areas of disaster risk   

Local levels in Tanahun district are planning to identify potential areas of risk stemming from monsoon rain-induced disaster.     It may be noted that this year only the floods and landslides had buried 13 to death in different parts of the district and the risk are still looming large in the area.    

Landslide displaces 25 families at Dhairing 

As many as 25 households of Jaljala rural municipality-7, Dhairing have been displaced due to landslide.     With the fear of landslide looming large, they were forced to abandon their own houses and shift to the secured place.
