Mother's initiation foils daughter's early marriage  

A mother’s awareness and prompt response has been a reason behind the prevention of a bid for a child marriage of her own daughter at Thaha Municipality-4 in Makwanpur. The case is the first-ever recorded event in the district that the attempt for an early marriage was foiled due to mother's initiation.    

Traffic Division sealed off after two traffic persons reported COIVD-19 positive 

The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) in Kathmandu has been sealed off after two of the traffic police persons were found infected with COVID-19.     The nasal and throat swabs collected from the suspected ones at the MTPD on Friday were sent to Nepal Police Hospital for the test, which resulted in two traffic persons contracting the infection.    

Karnali govt to assist Rs 100 thousand to rebuild damaged houses

The Karnali State government has decided to provide a monetary assistance to those families who have become homeless from the natural disasters-related incidents. The assistance of Rs 100 thousand is meant for rebuilding the houses.   

189 Nepali die of COVID-19 worldwide 

A total of 28 Nepali have died of coronavirus worldwide in the past seven days. According to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), among fresh deaths, 25 are in India, two in the Saudi Arabia and one in the South Africa. With this, the worldwide death toll of Nepali people from the virus has reached 189.  

Arjundhara municipality in lockdown   

The Arjundhara municipality has imposed a lockdown in the municipality to stop further spread of Corona Virus. The Saturday meeting of the COVID Crisis Management Committee decided to impose a five-day lockdown starting today.    

Karnali highway obstructed since a week

The Karnali highway remains obstructed due to floods and landslides since the past one week. Heavy rainfall-triggered floods and landslides have obstructed the highway in several locations.    

Prohibitory order issued in Banke 

The local administration has imposed a prohibitory order to be effective for the next three days in the district. The decision was taken after 30 people were found infected in a single day during a test of people carried out in government offices and in the communities.    

Paddy production expected to increase

Timely transplantation of paddy saplings along with sufficient rainfall is expected to increase paddy production in Banke this year. The Agriculture Knowledge Centre, Banke has said that 1.4 million quintals of paddy is expected to be produced this year.     

Girl injured in attack by cheetah  

A girl child was injured in an attack by a Cheetah at Samastipur in ward no. 1 of Anbukhaireni rural municipality. The incident took place on Saturday night, when 10-year-old Amisha Thapa was in the courtyard outside her home.    

35 families of Bhurke displaced   

Thirty-five households of Bhurke rural municipality-2 have been displaced as a result of landslide. Landslide on the top and well as below the village forced the residents of the village to leave their home for safety, police said.
