The Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) Japan has concluded its regional convention in Nagoya city in spite of the COVID-19 risk.    

Bodies of eight people missing in Melamchi landslide found   

Bodies of all eight people missing in Melamchi landslide occurred on Sunday night have been found.     Police Inspector at the Area Police Office, Melamchi, Phal Bahadur Tamang, said that of the deceased, seven are from Birgunj and one is Indian national.    

156 families displaced by monsoon-related disasters in Tanahu   

One hundred and fifty-six households have been displaced by natural disasters triggered by monsoon in Tanahu, the district in Gandaki state. Some of them have lost their homes to the disasters while some were forced to leave the houses due to a high risk of disaster.     According to local government, the displaced families are taking shelter at neighbours’ homes, at community facilities and schools.   

Dead body of missing health worker found   

Among the two health workers in Doti district who had gone missing in Seti River on August 1, the dead body of one has been retrieved.    

Youths arrested with marijuana

Police have arrested two youths with marijuana at Katahari rural municipality of Morang district. According to the District Police Office, Morang, Ashish Rai, 34, of Dharan-15 of Sunsari and Sanjeev Rai, 22, of Dharan-16 were arrested with three kg of marijuana at Singiya khola of Katahari rural municipality-1 on Sunday in course of checking.

DAO Jhapa’s revenue collection drops   

The District Administration Office (DAO), Jhapa has experienced the fallout of COVID-19 crisis in terms of revenue collection.     The Office’s revenue collection in the last fiscal year was limited to Rs 43 million which is less than over Rs 25.3 million compared to the previous fiscal year .

Bojhekhola-Sunkoshi rural road comes into operation 

The Bojhekhola-Sunkoshi rural road at Halesi-Tuwachung municipality has come into operation. The 12-km road connects ward-3 Chyasmitar Bojhekhola with the Sunkoshi river bank via Chhokmala of ward-5, Durchhim. 

Landslide renders 13 households displaced   

Baglung, Aug 3 : The monsoon rain triggered landslides have rendered at least 13 households displaced at Nisikhola and Dhorpatan in Baglung district. The incessant rain has caused full damage to the house of Narendra Kunwar, a local of Nisikhola rural municipality-1, Devisthan Khara, and inflicted partial damage to the house of Bal Bahadur Malla.    

Dialysis service begins in Beni 

Free dialysis service has begun at Beni Hospital in the Myagdi district headquarters, Beni, from last Sunday onward. With this, the kidney patients are freed from compulsion to pay exorbitant price for routine dialysis service at the public and private hospitals outside the district.    

Two fake police nabbed 

The District Police Office, Dang arrested two fake police. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sumit Khadka, the arrestees were Suroj Nepali, 30, of Ghorahi sub-metropolis-9, Karmatuwa and Gopal Malla, 30, of Salyan Bhalchaur.
