Tourism activities resume at CNP after six months 

Tourism activities at the Chitwan National Park (CNP) have resumed after a break of around six months due to COVID-19 pandemic. Elephant safari, jungle walk and bird viewing have been open at the CNP, said CNP Chief Conservation Officer Ananath Baral.    

Risk of infection spreading to villages in festival  

With festivals knocking the door, the risk of coronavirus infection spreading to the villages from the urban centre is very high. All the urban centers have reported rise in infection with increased crowd in the market centres for festival-related shopping.    

KMC records nearly 10,000 cases of coronavirus infection  

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has recorded nearly 10,000 cases of coronavirus infection. The most affected is Ward No 15 of KMC where there are 871 cases of infection.   

Farmers in Tanahu getting attracted to livestock insurance  

The number of farmers who have got their livestock insured has increased in Tanahu district.      A total of 10,795 animals were insured in the fiscal year, 2018/19 as compared to 36,421 animals in the FY, 2019/20, according to the veterinary hospital and livestock service centre, Tanahu.    

Man dies of coronavirus   

A man has died of coronavirus infection in Lohakinthali of Madhyapur Thimi-1 this morning. The 50-year-old was in home isolation and died on the way to hospital, the family sources said.     

Woman dies of COVID-19   

A woman of 28 year died of COVID-19 while receiving treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Science (BPKIHS), Dharan this morning.    

Three injured when truck plunges into Trishuli

Three persons sustained injuries when a truck plunged into the Trishuli River. The truck (Na 5 Kha 9622) en route to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa fell into the river bank at Ichhakamana rural municipality-4, Dharapni in Chitwan at around 5.00 this morning.     

  Directive to close down crusher industry of Sarangghat 

The Committee has directed the shutdown of Namuna Grid and Crusher Industry being operated at Bandipur rural municipality-6, Sarangghat of the district.

Gandaki State sees 17 new cases of coronavirus   

The Gandaki State has witnessed 17 new cases of coronavirus infection. With this the number of people contracting the virus has reached 4,003 in the State, shared director of Gandaki State Health Directorate and spokesperson of Gandaki State Corona Control and Prevention Programme Dr Binod Bindu Sharma.
