High alerts placed after ‘killer’ tiger escapes from enclosure  

High alerts have been placed after a Bengal tiger which was confined by the Banke national park escaped the boundary.    According to the national park sources, high alert measures have been adopted after the ‘killer’ tiger ran away from the enclosure.

A sub-committee formed under the Education and Health Committee, House of Representatives has advised the government to prepare a mechanism at the province and federal-level to prevent and stem any sorts of pandemic and health crisis potential in the future.    

NTA’s broadband internet connected to 75 per cent of target areas  

Under Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA)'s the Broadband Internet Expansion Project, 75 per cent area of target districts has been connected with the internet till mid-March.  The project relating to providing broadband internet service by using the Rural Telecommunications Fund has been implemented in 18 packages. The NEA said till mid-March, 7,489 new areas have been connected with high-speed internet.

Bushfire at multiple places reported for over a month, bodies concerned remain silent   

With the onset of dry and windy season, forest fires have started taking place in the district.     Locals said that bushfires have been taking place at Chure area, Sagarnath forest development project, Phooljor Baba partnership forest and other community forests of the district for the past few days continuously.  

High alertness adopted at border transit points with surge in Corona virus cases in India

The Armed Police Force (APF) Chhinnamasta Brigade Headquarters, Province no 2 Mahottari stated that high alertness along with stringent checking has been adopted at the transit points. Province no 2 shares 464 kilometres border with India from the Saptari district in the east to Parsa district in the west. 

School closed for three days after hundreds of students fall ill   

The Nawa Durga Lower Secondary School located at Narayan municipality-5 of Dailekh district has been closed for three days from Tuesday.

Bird of a new species detected   

The bird ‘Lamopuchchhare Chanchar’ with long tail was detected on the river side of the Chitwan National Park     Photographer Milang Tamang had taken the snapshot of the bird for the first time.
