Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), the umbrella organisation of working journalists across the country, is celebrating its 66th anniversary today.
NC condemns Baglung incident
In a press statement today, Party Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma has demanded an investigation into the scuffle which ended in the tragic deaths of two youth. The party wants to be sure whether the incident was accidental or deliberate.
Man killed in tusker attack in Dhanusha
An elderly man was killed when a wild elephant attacked him at Khaptari Tol in Mithila Municipality-7 in Dhanusha district on Sunday night. Padam Bahadur Khaptari Magar, 80, was attacked to death by the elephant while he was sleeping at his home, said the police.
Smog to remain for few days more
The smog seen at different places of the country including Kathmandu Valley for the past few days would persist for few more days. Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar said that wildfire is the main reason behind the smog.
Jhapa records 553 cases of elephantiasis
The District Health Office Jhapa said that the district has recorded as many as 553 cases of elephantiasis. Kumarkhod of Jhapa rural municipality has the highest 32 elephantiasis cases in the district, according to the health office sources.

NA defuses two bombs found in Thehe village
A Nepal Army (NA) team has defused a sutali bomb planted in-between two houses at Simkot rural municipality-2, Thehegaun in Humla. House owner Log Bhandari had informed the Thehe police post once the bomb plantation was suspected between the houses of Bhandari and Tula Rawal.
