Province 1 government denies media reports on vaccine issue

In a press statement today, Chief Minister’s press advisor Dhruba Subedi said some media claiming that a COVID-19 vaccination programme had been scheduled at the Chief Minister’s Office and at his residence and it was planned under the pressure of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat was predetermined and fabricated.

Taplejung folks disapprove proposal for renaming Suketar Airport 

The Taplejung-based political parties, Civil Society representatives and the locals have urged the government not to rename Suketar Airport also known as Taplejung Airport to Late Rabindra Adhikari Airport.   

UML Standing Committee meet called for this evening 

The ruling CPN (UML) has summoned its Standing Committee meeting for this evening. The meeting has been called at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwataar for 5:00 pm, according to UML Party Office secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang.

COVID-19 infection rate on wane in Dadeldhura 

The cases of second wave of COVID-19 have been recorded to be on the descending order in Dadheldhura since a week. 

Four people die of COVID-19 in past 12 hours in Banke   

The COVID-19 death rate in Banke has significantly dropped in the past 12 hours. The district-based health facilities have reported four deaths overnight and they all are from outside the district. Prior to this, this figure was 15-17.    

Small parties lament a full budget from caretaker govt.   

Smaller parties represented in the currently dissolved House of Representatives have accused the government of evading the parliament to bring a populist budget. The caretaker government does not have the right to bring a full budget, they said.    

President Bhandari's letter to US counterpart handed over 

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has written a letter to her American counterpart Joseph R Biden requesting to support COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal.

Nepal defeated by Iraq in friendly match 

Hosts Iraq opened the scoring, with the first goal in the 7th minute of the match where Captain Ala Abdul Jahar Khasin scored through a free-kick. Soon after, Nepal leveled the score in the 8th minute with an own-goal from Ahmed Ibrahim.    

Humla to be linked to national highway 

Simikot, the district headquarters of Humla is finally being linked to the national highway.

NRNA to organize singer contest   

  The musical reality show will start from coming June 21, according to the organisers. Nepalis 15 years and above living in all the countries except Nepal and in SAARC countries are eligible to take part in the contest.
