London, May 30 : The Non-resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) is to host the 'NRN the Singer', a talent show to help identify Nepali talents across the globe.
The musical reality show will start from coming June 21, according to the organisers. Nepalis 15 years and above living in all the countries except Nepal and in SAARC countries are eligible to take part in the contest.
Senior musician Shambhujeet Baskota, singers Shambhu Rai and Sharmila Bardewa are in the jury, along with former NRNA Chair Jeeva Lamichhane.
Speaking at a programme organized to shed light on the event, Lamichhane said the objective behind founding of the NRNA is also to protect and preserve Nepali language, literature, art and culture and the event is expected to be a milestone towards that end.
NRNA Chair Kumar Pant said as language, literature and culture are the major identities of the Non-resident Nepalis this event was a priority for the NRNA.
Govinda Prasad Gautam, the main coordinator of the event shed light on various aspects of the programme.
